Willow TV Launches Free YouTube T20 World Cup Matches
Willow TV has made a significant move in the sports broadcasting landscape by launching free YouTube matches for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, in partnership with Jomboy Media. This initiative, which began on February 3, 2026, allows fans to watch all four Team USA matches for free, marking a historic first in ICC history.
The T20 World Cup, featuring 20 teams and a total of 55 matches, runs from February 7 to March 8, 2026. The final match between India and New Zealand is scheduled for March 8, 2026, at 9:30 AM ET, and is expected to draw a sell-out crowd of 132,000 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, India.
Willow by Cricbuzz’s Chief Operating Officer, Todd Myers, stated, “We helped bring the sport into an affordable monthly subscription, and now we are taking the next step by offering free access.” This launch represents a watershed moment for cricket in America, aiming to expand the sport’s reach and popularity.
In addition to the free matches, Jomboy Media is providing creator-led commentary for key matchups, including USA vs India and USA vs Pakistan. This innovative approach is designed to engage a new audience and enhance the viewing experience.
Marc Hatfield, Partnerships Manager at YouTube, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, saying, “We’re thrilled to partner with Willow by Cricbuzz to bring T20 World Cup USA cricket matches to YouTube for free.” This partnership aims to create new fans in the U.S. for cricket, often referred to as baseball’s older cousin.
India advanced to the final by defeating England in the semifinals, while New Zealand secured their spot after a decisive nine-wicket victory over South Africa. The anticipation for the final is building as cricket fans prepare to witness this exciting matchup.
Willow TV is also ensuring multi-platform access for streaming the matches, allowing fans to enjoy the games from various devices. This accessibility is expected to further enhance viewership and engagement.
As the tournament progresses, observers are keenly watching how this initiative will impact cricket’s growth in the U.S. and whether it will lead to sustained interest in the sport.
Details remain unconfirmed regarding future collaborations or expansions of free match offerings beyond the T20 World Cup.
