The characters in The Heated Rivalry were incredibly endearing as they portrayed two carefree friends who bring Tommy Brennan (and truly all of us) a sense of FOMO.
February 28 marked an incredible evening for ice skating enthusiasts and their devoted fans. Initially, actor Connor Storrie introduced Team USA hockey stars Hilary Knight, Megan Keller, Jack Hughes, and Quinn Hughes during his monologue on Saturday Night Live. Later in the show, Storrie’s Heated Rivalry co-star Hudson Williams made a delightful appearance in the amusing and heartwarming “Ice Skating” sketch.
Catch Saturday Night Live every Saturday at 11:30/10:30c on NBC and stream it the following day on Peacock.
Casper (Tommy Brennan) had a strong desire to join Storrie and Williams’ charming characters on the ice, and we felt the same way.

At the beginning of "Ice Skating," it appeared that it could follow a format akin to the "Waffle House" sketch, where a serious scene is set against chaotic action in the background. However, a couple working through their problems (Brennan and Veronika Slowikowska) find themselves sidetracked by three carefree ice skating friends, to the extent that Brennan's character becomes unable to look away.
"I'm having an absolute blast, Danny," one guy (Mikey Day) says to his buddy Bryce (Storrie) as they gleefully zoom by, while their other friend (Ben Marshall) playfully teases them. And check it out: Danny is mimicking airplane wings.
"Those three guys are clearly having a blast," Casper exclaims, as his girlfriend urges him to contribute to the conversation. "I've never witnessed adult men enjoying themselves so genuinely. Seriously, how old could they be?"
"Oh, I feel incredibly liberated! Right now, I feel just like Alysa Liu," Bryce proclaims to the melancholic pair (Marshall soon elicits a chuckle from Brennan as he glides past and gives him a tickle, inquiring, "Is that your girlfriend?").

At last, their fourth companion “finally” arrives: Hudson Williams glides in, while the Studio 8H crowd erupts into cheers.
"Apologies for my tardiness, everyone, but I have an important question: Who’s pumped to shred some serious pavement?" he inquires (everyone, without exception, is excited). "I’ve never felt this awesome," Williams proclaims as he glides past.
"How can that even be real?" Casper ponders. "I mean, how is it that skating in a four-person train is the most exhilarating experience that guy has ever had?"
In the end, the endless humor and infectious happiness of the bachelor party crew are far more appealing than Casper’s romantic troubles. With such friends around, who could possibly fault him?

In the “Ice Skating” sketch on SNL, Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie were actually roller skating.

You may have assumed that SNL filmed the “Ice Skating” sketch on the rink at 30 Rock, considering how authentic it appeared (and because they shot in front of the building during the “Weekend Update” on January 31). However, when the camera angle expanded just before the commercial break, it unveiled the illusion behind the scenes.
A video display showcased a remarkably realistic rink, featuring the golden Prometheus statue in the backdrop. Instead of traditional ice skates, Hudson, Storrie, and the Season 51 cast members were smoothly maneuvering on roller blades, restricted to a compact area of flooring.
