David Copperfield ends 25-year residency
David Copperfield is concluding his iconic 25-year residency at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, with his final performance scheduled for April 30, 2026. This marks the end of an era for one of the most recognized magicians in the world, who has captivated audiences since his residency began in 2000.
Throughout his time at MGM Resorts, Copperfield has performed for over 7 million people from nearly every country, showcasing his unique blend of storytelling and illusion. He typically runs 15 shows per week in his 740-seat theater, a venue that was named the David Copperfield Theater in 2013.
In the lead-up to his final performance, Copperfield will complete 120 more shows over the next eight weeks. His departure from the stage was described as his choice, and MGM Resorts expressed gratitude for the energy and creativity he has brought to the production.
Mike Neubecker, a representative from MGM Resorts, stated, “We thank David and his exceptional team for the incredible energy they’ve consistently delivered with this larger-than-life production.” This sentiment reflects the profound impact Copperfield has had on the Las Vegas entertainment landscape.
Copperfield himself reflected on his journey, saying, “My journey began as a kid in New Jersey with a dream of making magic in my life.” He emphasized the importance of magic in teaching us that often things dismissed as impossible are indeed achievable.
After the conclusion of his show, Copperfield plans to announce a new project, which he describes as the largest and most challenging endeavor he has ever tackled. “I’m excited to announce what’s next soon thereafter,” he noted.
For fans who have purchased tickets for shows after April 30, MGM Resorts has confirmed that they will be automatically refunded, ensuring that no guests are left disappointed.
As Copperfield prepares for his final curtain call, the magic he has created and the memories he leaves behind will undoubtedly resonate with audiences for years to come.
