High Point University Advances to Big South Championship Final
The High Point University men’s basketball team achieved a significant milestone on March 8, 2026, by advancing to the Air Force Reserve Big South Basketball Championships final after a hard-fought 75-71 victory over UNC Asheville at the Freedom Hall Civic Center in Johnson City, TN.
This victory marks the second consecutive year that High Point University has reached the championship game, showcasing their consistent performance in the Big South Conference. With this win, the team has tied a program and Big South record with a total of 29 victories this season, underscoring their dominance in the league.
High Point University’s success this season is highlighted by their impressive winning streak of 13 games overall. In the semifinal match against UNC Asheville, the team scored 75 points, with standout player Anderson contributing a team-high 25 points and securing 12 rebounds.
