Chips Recalled Due to Allergen Concerns
Frito-Lay has announced a recall of specific 8-ounce bags of Miss Vickie’s Spicy Dill Pickle Potato Chips due to an undeclared milk allergen. This recall affects products sold in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas.
The recall was initiated after a customer reported the issue to Frito-Lay. The affected bags were distributed as early as January 15, 2026, and consumers are advised to discard the product if they have a milk allergy or sensitivity.
According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), “Those with an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume the recalled product.” The UPC for the recalled chips is 0 28400 761772, and the ‘Guaranteed Fresh’ date is April 21, 2026.
The manufacturing codes for the recalled product are 38U301414 and 48U101514. Frito-Lay has confirmed that no other flavors, sizes, or variety packs of Miss Vickie’s are included in this recall.
As of now, no allergic reactions related to this matter have been reported. A spokesperson from PepsiCo, Inc. stated, “No allergic reactions related to this matter have been reported to date.” Frito-Lay also reassured consumers that, “Unless a consumer has a dairy allergy or sensitivity to milk, this product is safe to consume.”
Consumers are urged to check their pantry for the recalled chips and take appropriate action if they are affected. The FDA continues to monitor the situation and provide updates as necessary.
Details remain unconfirmed regarding the total number of bags affected by this recall, but the company is taking the matter seriously to ensure consumer safety.
