USPS Announces New Post Office in Hågat
The United States Postal Service (USPS) has confirmed plans to open a new post office in Hågat, proposed to be located at the Old Fire Station. In addition to the new post office, the USPS is set to conduct its next Postal Pulse employee survey from March 10 to April 17, 2026. This survey aims to gather feedback from employees to improve working conditions, with participation being voluntary and individual results kept confidential.
Hågat residents have expressed concerns regarding the prolonged closure of their local post office. James Moylan, a local representative, noted, “Hågat residents asked me to look into this matter after the temporary closure was put in place over three years ago and my office intervened.” The community has been vocal about the need for reliable postal services.
Currently, the USPS delivers over 300 million pieces of mail per day and receives approximately 300,000 customer complaints per year alleging misconduct. Among these complaints, landlord Lebene Konan has submitted 50 complaints related to mail delivery issues over the past two years.
Kevin Susuico, a spokesperson for the USPS, expressed optimism about the future of postal services in Hågat, stating, “We are confident that the long-awaited resolution of the post office situation will be achieved in the coming months.” However, the exact opening date of the new post office remains unconfirmed.
